NEWSFLASH!

Boston,
MA: I continue to heal. Am Nine Days away from my Total Left Hip Replacement
Operation. Here is the best news I've heard in a long time. From Elmar in Germany:
Last friday
I was at a blues / rock show at the Bastion in Kirchheim/Teck(German). The show
was great and the place was crowded. As the
band took a break a guy walked past me wearing a The Peasants shirt. Of course
I talked to him and it turns out he's the Bastion's sound guy. Guess what he
said
when I asked him bout The Peasants - "this was the best band that I ever
saw performing here"! Of course I encouraged him to book you guys on your
next tour
and he said he definitely will! Hope you'll be well very soon and back in Germany
to ROCK!!! All the best, Elmar.
Thank you Elmar! You made my week. I cannot wait to return to Europe. Arno,
formerly of SidekickBob, has a new band and I hope we can do a tour with him
Fall 2011. Nils and Billy are already all over it. We shall see. I will keep
you posted.

Boston,
MA: Going in for Left Hip Surgery on October 12, 2010 after which I hope to
be playing more, especially w/The Peasants.
Am even thinking about Holland/Germany/Etc. Fall 2011.
My good friend Arno of Pijnacker/Sidekickbob fame is my great white hope for
any touring possibilities ..... Fall 2011 Arno?
So that's the story. Another Hip Replacement, another recovery and hopefully
another resurgence of Peasant Touring!!

Boston, MA: Huge Show on Cape Cod this past weekend. Tribute II For Ray Neades.
SIX Incredible Bands, two of which Ray was a founder, played to a packed club
on
the beautiful hills of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
First night it was members of NRBQ & The Incredible Casuals, two bands my
good
friend loved. Next up was Lard Zeppelin, an offshoot of the Beefy DC idea, only
this time with J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr as John Bonham. Last on bill Friday was
The Cavedogs, a Boston Rock Trio with great, great songs!! 2/3 of the band flew
from Los Angeles to play this benefit!
Saturday was more
of the same with The Stinkin Lincolns, Beefy DC and The Upper
Crust (you've got to see it.... words don't do it justice). We raised a ton
o
cash for the family of Ray and had a great big rock and roll party celebrating
the things he loved... Rock N Roll, Cape Cod and The BeachComber!! Thanks to
everyone who played, listened, helped out and gave of themselves to make this
event such a stellar success. I couldn't be happier and I'm sure Ray was pretty
tickled too!

Boston, MA: Though we have not been doing much touring or recording these last
few years we continue to play in The Pit of Harvard Square, Cambridge as many
Friday nights as possible during the summer months. So far we've been out four
times, the last time being the best w/Paul Reynolds on drums. Look for us between
Out Of Town News and Au Bon Pain, by the Harvard Square subway station.
Usually between 8 to midnight any Friday night if it isn't raining. These shows
are the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on! Come out and play with us!

We will be reforming Beefy DC to play a set in Ray's honor. Below please find a list of the bands to be performing for this HUGE event at Church, in The Fenway, Boston, MA.

Boston, MA:
Hundreds of people, mostly musicians from Western Mass Bands, paid tribute to
Ray Neades at the scene of the old Bay State in Northampton this past Thursday
night. Ray knew EVERYONE. Many storied told in loving memory of the big guy.
I was honored to play lead guitar with Ray's old band, Miss Reed. It was truly
special to rip solos thru four Ray Neades numbers before many loving friends.
I felt like Ray was watching and smiling down on us. One of the highlights of
the evening was Tom doing a cover of Dirty White Boy by Foreigner. Ray was always
egging Tom on to play covers and this was a great one. Here's the clip:
After Northampton, Dave Lieb (Peasant Bassist) and I headed out to Saratoga,
NY where we did a benefit show to raise money for kids who can't afford the
cost of sport. With The Mike Perkins Project we did a bunch of Steely Dan, Chicago,
Stevie Wonder, etc. The venue was called Putnam Den. We should have a few good
clips up on YouTube soon. They raised over $10,000. from what we've heard. Now
I'm off till Feb 20th when we'll do a House Party at Peasant Central. I go back
under the knife March 2nd so I'm enjoying my moments! Got Bless!!
16 january 2010
Boston, MA: Played Lead Guitar For Bomb Squad Larry last night at O'Brien's Pub in Allston Rock City!! Was pretty incredible! Great crowd! Nice and Loud! Pete Soszynski is an easy going upbeat songwriter who plays a mean bass. Me and Steve Hart (The Peasant Drummer) backed Pete up.
I will be playing a few benefit/memorial shows for my recently deceased friend Ray Neades around Boston and Northampton, MA. He left much debt and was a friend to many, MANY people. We've also got footage of old Beefy DC shows on DVD that we're going to put up on YouTube soon as we figure out how to do it.
Lastly, I'm
going back into surgery for the hip that was replaced in March 2006. The surgeon
put it in loose and it's been bumming me out for Four Years so I'm finally dealing
with it. Going under the knife March 2nd. Hope to be back with you all in time
for Ray Neades Memorial Shows at Church April 8-10th. We're planning to reform
Beefy DC for that with guest singer(s) tba.
